Moose Meanderings

Welcome to my Moose Page

While this page is quite the contrast to the rest of my website - it is every bit as patriotic.  What is more a part of Canada's landscape than the almighty moose?  And so I decided to add a bit of whimsy and humor to my site by creating this fun page dedicated to moose everywhere.

Now before you think that I have inhaled too much salty sea air and it is affecting my thinking process, let me just say that I think we all need to lighten up, smile more, and laugh often.  And so, with that in mind I decided to decorate my new kitchen with moose and apples.  At last count my four legged kitchen friends total 62 - well, I did have to put several Christmas Moose away unless I wanted everyone who visits my home to be greeted with "Merry Christmoose" all year long.

One unique moose was named 'Cookie' by my four year old Grandson.  Somehow I think he was trying to tell me something - needed a cookie perhaps?  Cookie has adjustable legs that make him average size to very tall - a feature the grandchildren love to play with.

But my very favourite moose is called Louie and he was a surprise Christmas present from my other half (the hunter of moose).  He stands 3 feet tall, and welcomes all who enter my kitchen.  He's so ugly he's adorable.

Of course having grandchildren, they need their own cookie jar right?  And what better way to represent the love and laughter of children than a moose wearing a turtleneck sweater and bearing gifts.  He's off limits to the adults but loves sharing his treats with the children.

Who knows where my adventure with moose will take me next?  I hope you'll stop by again because there are moose just waiting to decorate these pages and more moose stories to tell.

Did you know that moose multiply faster than rabbits?  At least they do in my house.  My 3' moose was so lonesome I had to find a partner for him and so now Louie and Lizzy stand side by side guarding all who enter my kitchen.

They have lots of friends to chatter with including the moose wearing the red sweater with Canada emblazoned on the front; the moose with blush on his cheeks sitting next to the moose all decked out in plaid shirt, brown corduroy pants and holding a hunting rifle.  Then there are the 3 moose sitting around a campfire while the one in the middle fries something rather dubious looking in the fry pan over the open fire....

At the grandchildren's table set sit four moose - occupying the four chairs and keeping each other company.  They also drive us adults all a little wild when the four grandchildren come to visit and get each moose to sing Christmas tunes - all are off key and all sing a different tune all at once!!!
