Welcome To The Rose Tree

A place where women in the military community will be recognized for the vast talents they possess.

Feel free to send me your information to add to this Virtual Tree of Honor. I require your name, location, picture of item (jpeg file), when it was created, and a brief description of your background..

Please note that this page is not intended to solicit sales of any items.  It is merely to acknowledge the talents you possess and to create a Virtual Gallery.

In 1998 a reception was held after the official opening of Home Fires Park at CFB Petawawa. As part of the celebration of military spouses, a huge display of items were created by military spouses for this event, and the display was very well received.  After a conversation with the Base Commander at that time, permission was given to the curator  for a permanent display area at the CFB Petawawa Military Museum to showcase the work of military spouses.

Based on that 'promise', many military wives donated their creations to the Museum.  Sadly, here we are over six years later and the display never became a reality.  In fact even with the current renovations to the museum to be completed in time for CFB Petawawa's 100th Anniversary celebrations in July 2005, there is no place in the museum for military spouses. Recently, the museum returned to me all the items these special, talented ladies so generously donated, and it saddened me even further to accept them.

What all these talented military spouses are creating is part of our visual history and it should be preserved and collected.  As much as some refuse to acknowledge, military spouses are just as important a part of the military community as those who wear a uniform.

Therefore, I will display each and every item I have on these pages and look forward to hearing from other ladies in the lifestyle to contribute to our Virtual History of Military Spouses page.

Unfortunately some ladies who donated items, have left this area and I no longer have their contact information. The location shown with their name here is their last known posting. If you recognize any of your work or that of your friends, please contact me as I would like to reconnect with each lady and to update their current locations.

As well, within these pages you'll see items created by military wives that I have personally collected and received as gifts over the years - all of which I sincerely treasure.  Ladies, this is an opportunity for you to showcase your talents.  I am particularly interested in items that relate to our lifestyle, but will post other items as space permits.
