The History of QRSTUV

18 July 2001
26 September 1999
30 July 1999
- Folks: Those Mentioned Herein was expanded
to include more of the web page. Folks mentioned in the following
sections were added.
- This history page was added.
- Further info was found on the Steve Taylor that appeared on a
Sandi Patty album. It was Steven V.
Taylor who was already one of the other Steve Taylors.
25 September 1998
- Songs: Not Just The Lyrics was introduced.
At this time most songs had no notes or interpretations. That
is a planned enhancement at some time in the future.
- Folks: Those Mentioned Herein was
introduced. It only had those mentioned in
Albums: A Discography,
A Biography, and
Technical Specifications. Work
continued on adding those mentioned in the other sections.
- A page counter was started. It's zero point was this date.
Unfortunately, there is no record available of the countless
thousands that visited the old text version in it's three and a
half years or during the first months of the web version.
6 August 1998
- Work on converting the content of the text version of QRSTUV was
complete and the web version went online. The old text version was
taken offline.
July 1998
- Work continued on the revamping. An announcement was made about
the new home and the work on the update.
June 1998
- Work began on a revamped QRSTUV. It was brought into the age
of HTML. A new location was found to shake the fetters of the
text file limitation.
4 April 1996
- The final update of the text version was released.
6 December 1995
- QRSTUV - The Quick Roland Stephen Taylor Ubiquitous Volume, an
abridged edition, was posted to the steve-taylor list. A copy is
still available at the list's web site.
16 June 1995, 14 September 1995, 5 November 1995
- QRSTUV was posted to rec.music.christian, as can be verified
through DejaNews. With each such post came new information and
changes based on suggestions from net folk.
Late December 1994 sometime after Christmas
- QRSTUV was first posted to rec.music.christian signaling it's
official release. An exact date can not be found as the
archives of DejaNews only go back as far as March 1995.
- It was also at this time that QRSTUV became available in the
Artist Information section of the Contemporary Christian Music
Special Interest Group (CCM SIG) on the National Capital
Freenet (Ottawa). This information was also available through
the World Wide Web.
The two weeks before Christmas 1994
- I met Trent Ernst online who provided some suggestions on the draft
at that point in development. Peter Thomas Chattaway, a friend
of Trent, provided information on a number of less well
documented projects Steve worked on. Peter also provided a
number of suggestions on the draft.
Early December 1994
- QRSTUV was first written as a text file, based loosely on the
layout of The Phil Keaggy Information Phile.
