This was Steve's first production effort for Guardian. Guardian opened for Steve Taylor on a leg of the Squinternational Tour. This is where Steve got to know Guardian.

Guardian approached Steve to produce for them. Steve was hesitant because he wasn't into the musical style of Guardian. However, Steve had already become friends with them through the tour and agreed to produce this album.

Steve wrote the lyrics to the songs This Old Man, The Lion's Den, and Are You Going To Keep Your Word? He co-wrote the lyrics, with members of Guardian, the songs Lead The Way and One Thing Left To Do.
