* BIRDING THE AMERICAS TRIP REPORT & PLANNING REPOSITORY. Most birders enjoy traveling to see birds, and accurate information can improve one's journey. Despite the increasing number of published Birders' Guides now available, most areas in North and South America (the "New World") are not yet adequately covered. And even where such books are available, a well-prepared trip report can augment such sources.  This site is a repository wherein people share their birding trip experiences.  In addition, other bird-related trip planning information is included for many areas.

In memory of Karl Remus (1918-2004). Karl was a founding member of the Pembroke & Area Bird Club, which became the current PAFN. He and his first wife, the late Doreen Remus, were avid birders and maintained bird feeders on their lovely Bonnechere River property in Eganville. Karl, a veteran, Legion member and a longtime Canada Post employee in Pembroke and Ottawa, was also an inventor, playright and poet. He invented and marketed a bird identification card game called, I see it!, I see it!
With permission of his family, we present a poem, Laurentian Wonderland by Karl, which he wrote during a camping trip to Oiseau Rock along the Ottawa River many years ago.
