LAURENTIAN WONDERLAND
When summer sun its torrent rays
On earth each day relentless plays
My tent and roll I pack, and leave
For camp-the pure sweet air to breathe;
All cares and worries left behind
As nature's beauty fills the mind;
For there is nothing near so grand
As the Laurentian Wonderland.
Laurentian Hills majestic stand,
Bring name to this enchanted land.
Its waters rippling merrily,
The lazy Ottawa you see.
At eve the twinkling stars so gay
With silvery moon come out to play,
And light the way as down the strand
You wander through Laurentianland.
Like ghostly ships of days gone by,
Stealing their way across the sky,
Fluffy clouds of silvery hue
Are mirrored below on waters blue.
Silently come, silent away
To greet you again another day,
For they are part, you understand,
Of this Laurentian Wonderland.
The setting sun across the bay
Brings ending to another day;
And gazing up at brilliant skies,
You cannot help but realize
Its beauties blended every day,
No artist's brush could this portray;
None could, save God's almighty hand
Create Laurentian Wonderland.
