Merry Christmas My
Soldier
by Trina Cormier
Off away you left me for some far away place,
For a peacekeeping tour, with a tear on my face.
You call when you can and I wait patiently,
To hear from my soldier so precious to me.
I know what your doing helps bring the world peace,
But honey I worry and sometimes can’t sleep.
The things we get used to, we can’t live without,
A sacrifice you’ve given without further doubt.
I pray for your safety and hope for the best,
This time from my loved one, another true test.
The holidays come and the holidays go,
But the work that you do there forever will show.
You’re helping bring promise and peace to that land,
That’s why you are needed to help lend a hand.
I will wait my dear soldier though my heart will be sore,
For the end of your Golan Heights Peacekeeping Tour.
