The following poem was written to acknowledge the wedding of our son Trevor.
It came from my heart, and was read to the newlyweds at their wedding reception.

Trevor & Terry

by Dianne Collier

On September Twenty-fourth, 1999
Trevor asked of Terry, “Will You Be Mine?”
The response was a long-awaited “Yes!”
And both hearts brimmed with happiness

For a Mother to see her youngest Son
Take on a wife, as they become one
The tears that flowed freely from my eyes
Fell like raindrops from the skies

For Trevor has found his soul-mate for life
And I couldn’t be happier with his choice of a wife
This union is indeed heavenly blessed
For Terry has created Trevor’s happiness

What more could a Mother want for her Son
Than to know his best friend’s heart he has won
And to see them look into each other’s eyes
Brings more tears of happiness from the skies

So Trevor, go, be content
Face life’s challenges with confidence
You have my blessing, my precious dear
Stay in Terry’s arms and you’ll handle all fears

Terry, take care of my wonderful son
For the joy he’s brought me can’t be outdone
My love for him will always be
As I trust him to you for eternity

As I see you, so beautiful, in my wedding dress
You can’t imagine my happiness
As I welcome you into the Collier Clan
And ask God to hold you both, in the palm of His hand.

 All my love

Mom
