so does the need to acknowledge every one of them.  Tim Relihan's acknowledgement above speaks volumes....

To The Protesters

For all the free people that still protest, you’re welcome

We protect you and you are protected by the best.

Your voice is strong and loud, but who will fight for you?

No one standing in your crowd.

We are your fathers, brothers, and sons

Wearing the boots and carrying the guns

We are the ones that leave all we own,

To make sure your future is carved in stone

We are the ones who fight and die

We might not be able to save the world,

Well at least we try

We walked the paths to where we are at

And we want no choice other than that

So when you rally your group to complain

Take a looking the back of your brain

In order for that flag you love to fly,

Wars must be fought and young men must die

We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear

If that’s not respected, we would rather stay here

So please stop yelling and put down your signs

And pray for those behind enemy lines.

When the conflict is over and all is well

Be thankful that we chose to go through hell.

Sad Day in Kandahar.....  Benny "Keep On Truckin"

My family and I are involved in the cadet movement and we would like to extend our gratitude and love

to all those serving and to the families of those who have made the supreme sacrifice for our beloved country.

May God be with you all of your days.  Lorne Lawton

I served 7 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and I know and feel the comradeship the troops feel towards each other.

When they have a loss of one of their own, I know the loss hits them hard.

I just want them to know that I support them as do a lot more Canadians.  Stay alert and come home safely.  Murray Todd

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of our fallen this week.  Susan Hodgins

A salute to all the brave men and women who are deployed around the globe, especially in Afghanistan.  Peter & Krista Lefebvre

To Our Royal Canadian Dragoons Petawawa:

Once more we feel your sadness
Another soldier lost
We stand with you in silence
We mourn at such a cost

We know not how to ease your pain
We know not what to say
Except that we are with you
Each and every day

We go about our daily lives
Hurrying here and there
But we want to tell you once again
We're here and that we care

So keep this thought close with you
As you stand for him this day
We’re standing right beside you
And with you we will stay

Take care dear soldiers, we miss you all!

    Dear Daddy

I did not believe them,

When they told me you were gone.

It did not feel real.

It felt so, so wrong.

God took you away from us,

Without seeming to care.

Your family needs you Daddy

It does not seem fair.

We are not revengeful,

We are not even cross.

We just feel so sad

Because your presence has been lost

Yes, you will be with us.

Yes, your memories remain.

It just doesn't seem worth it,

Not seeing you march off that plane.

We'll miss you forever,

But you will miss so much.

How can we live without you;

Without your support, your love, your touch?

We need you Daddy.

We are not ready to go on.

Even though you taught us well,

We are not that brave, not that strong.

You were a soldier, lover, father, and friend.

We are so proud of everything you do.

We will try to live just like you,

To your memory we will be true.

It's just so hard to believe that you are gone

You can't be gone for good.

You had been our rock for so long,

That our family has been unglued.

Don't feel bad for leaving us.

Think of us with pride.

We'll be ok without you,

We may just have a really hard time.

Think of us, wherever you may be.

We will think of you with love.

We'll remember that you are free,

And you died for all of us.

Rest in Peace

Please support our troops and their families by showing  that you care.

The power of prayer and words from your heart should never be underestimated and

just knowing that you acknowledge others' tears and suffering

will go a long way in offering comfort.

  Monsters in the Dark

I know that they are out there,

I will not be ignorant anymore

Pulling the blanket over my head

Will not keep them from coming ashore

Instead I choose to confront them

As afraid as I might be

Because if I don't stop the monsters

Our children can never be free.

MCpl Jeffrey Scott Walsh (deceased)

I would like to say that I am praying for all soldiers that are in Afghanistan, you are very brave and proud men.

I especially think every day of Mark Baisley and his brother Jimmy Baisley who are from my home town and I know their family very well.

Keep up the good work and we hope to see you both home soon.  Again, you both are in my daily prayers.  Helen Mullin

Tribute to a Fallen Soldier's Wife

Today I watched the snowflakes fall
And then I thought of you
For if I could change just one thing
I know exactly what I would do

The day you packed your suitcase
You did it with such pride and care
I only watched at the side of the bed
And you picked out the clothes to wear

You looked up at me and then stood tall
And held your arms open wide
I almost climbed inside of you
For I was tearing up inside

Today was the day we parted ways
Although I knew it was not forever
It still pained me inside my heart
That we could not be together

You whispered promises of joyous returns
You even made me blush
And as we walked out to the car
I felt the sudden rush

The rush to tell you how much I loved you
To repeat how much I cared
The rush to have to remind you
That I will always be waiting here

Today I watched the sun rise
New flowers began to bloom
And as I looked at the calendar
I remembered you should be home

And then the tears start once again
My heart beats so very fast
When I think of how we said goodbye
And how it wasn’t supposed to last

I see the big black car

As it pulls into my lane
And then I feel that rush
To want you home again

I watch as you are brought off the plane
So handsomely wrapped in our flag
My hands just won’t stop shaking
For this is my Remembrance Day

And as I walk to meet you
I feel a sudden rush
The rush to hold you in my arms
To feel your loving touch

But I can now only say once more
Goodbye to you my love
But now this time there are no arms
Strong enough to hold me up

Today I planted flowers
The children ran and played
We sang songs and held hands
As we remember you at your grave.

The ultimate price is what you paid
As you honoured your duty in life
And I am so very proud to say
That I am a soldiers wife!

OUR LOCAL HEROES

Dave and Glen were brave young men
In my books, they made the TOP TEN
They joined the Army to protect this land
     From enemies like the Taliban.
They were sent to Afghanistan to fight a war.
For honor and freedom and so much more.
Their lives were taken before their time.
Their families mourn this awful crime.
Don't let their deaths be in vain
Support our soldiers just the same.
For if we don't, the Taliban
Will strike again if they can.
They did it once with 9/11.
These innocent souls are now in heaven
